Rich Davis
CWDP, Community Weaver

Rich Davis works with job seekers, employers, service providers and schools to create a comfortable fit in the workplace for everyone.

As a certified Workforce Development Professional, he has helped hundreds of people find jobs by giving personalized support. Rich has found that being comfortable at work leads to increased productivity, profits, and job security.

He began his “career” helping in his families’ convenience store in Stamford, CT.  After receiving his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Connecticut, Rich re-entered retail and was promoted to jewelry store manager.

He grew a new mall store to over $1M in annual sales and found his passion for human resources when he hired a salesman who became the company’s longest continual part time employee. When Rich hit the retail glass ceiling, he transitioned into the temporary staffing industry. There, he introduced the flexible staffing model to employers, analyzed their workplaces and reduced their payroll costs. In 1992, he entered his next career phase as a workforce development professional and Manager of Job Placement for a major NPO in Philadelphia. He helped people from a wide range of backgrounds find employment by helping them to see their value in the workplace and to sell themselves. Today, Rich is passionate about connecting Workforce Development Professionals with Human Resources Professionals and people with jobs.

Rich has served as past chair of the employment committee of the Mayor’s Commission for People with Disabilities in Philadelphia and on the Workforce Investment Board in Montgomery County, PA. He is a member of the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals and the Greater Valley Forge Human Resources Association. Re-ACT is also a member of the Business Leadership Network, an organization that supports the creation of jobs for people with disabilities and HIRE, an organization that supports the employment of ex-offenders.

Rich is a certified Community Weaver for Community Weaving America. He strives every day to weave himself into the fabric of his community. He does this by connecting community groups and energizing them to find solutions to community problems. He introduces them to community weaving theory and the Family Support Network International, Inc. Recently, he has launched a program of free job search support groups in his neighborhood which has grown with the help of the Valley Forge Human Resources Association community outreach committee to serve the region. He also serves on the Attitudes and Perceptions committee of the Partnership for a Disability Friendly Lehigh Valley Region.

Rich goes to any length to provide his customers with satisfaction; just as he learned to in his families’ store.
